Celebrating natural water movement through considered landscape design.
New Acres
London
We produced the landscape vision for this high density mixed-use residential-led scheme with landscaping to multiple levels. The redevelopment aims to enhance the emerging urban fabric of living and working adjacent to both the River Thames and the River Wandle.
The celebration of natural water movement is prevalent, with the ‘two journeys to two rivers’ emphasised by elements such as trees, planting, seating and amenity space, providing space for dynamic activation within the public realm.
Meandering green pathways link the surrounding areas and lead people towards the Thames. On the upper levels, public and communal terraces nestle amongst the surrounding buildings, continuing the dense planting at ground level to create a series of urban oasis with differing functions. This includes an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a glazed restaurant, as well as outdoor seating and lounging rooms.
