Enlightening the experience of the site user by creating a procession of linked spaces.
Weeting Crematorium
Weeting
Located in the shallow valley of Little River Ouse, this site forms part of a belt of arable farmland on the western side of Thetford Forest. We were commissioned to develop the concept design, attend the public consultation and prepare a planning application for this project.
The proposals create a distinct vegetation framework through the site to provide a series of logical and well-defined spaces that integrate the built elements into the surrounding landscape. The approach has been informed by local historic references such as Thetford Forest and Neolithic flint mines called Grime’s Graves. This allows for a strong contextual relationship between the site and the wider landscape.
